Open Settings → Basic settings → Financial goal.
Choose one of Hugo’s goals: grow wealth, financial independence, buy a home, financial security, maximize investment returns, reduce financial stress, or retirement. The selected goal changes which metrics Hugo highlights first on the Overview.
Add a specific target
Enter an amount and currency, then choose what progress is measured against:
- Total net worth
- Liquid net worth (cash + investments)
- Cash & savings
- Investments
Choose a basis that represents the goal. A home deposit usually belongs against Cash & savings; a broad wealth target may use Total net worth.
Optionally set a target month. Hugo converts the target into the active display currency using the current rate.
Goal progress
progress = current value of selected basis ÷ target amount × 100
When enough history exists, Hugo uses average pace over the trailing 12 months to estimate a completion date and reports whether that date is ahead of, behind, or on your target schedule.
If the measured value is not growing, Hugo reports that the goal is not moving forward. With too little history, it reports insufficient data instead of inventing a date.
